MUSIC

GolNar Trio

Superlatives precede Golnar Shahyar, and indeed: the Tehran-born singer, composer, and poet truly has something like a “millennial voice”! Every note she sings exudes pure magic; behind every seemingly effortless gesture, and every encouraging smile, her breathtaking control over rhythm, melody, pitch, and timbre is revealed. Born in the time of the First Gulf War, she builds profound and deeply moving musical as well as cultural bridges, connecting music with pressing social concerns. Influenced by singers such as Joni Michell and Betty Carter, Fairuz and Hayedeh, Aziza Mustafa Zadeh and Omou Sangare, Golnar Shahyar is above all always one thing: Golnar Shahyar. Shahyar recently released her debut album “Tear Drop” which was nominated for Debut Album of the Year (International) at the German Jazz Awards. For Framed she will be performing her songs with her long-term musical partner and exceptional guitarist Mahan Mirarab as well as the powerhouse percussionist Amir Wahba.

Golnar Shahyar: Voice, Piano, Synthesizer

ART

‘Every Wave is New’ is a new exhibit produced specifically for this event

Max Renneisen is a German painter based in Berlin. It is vital to his paintings and drawings to build on the legacy of the Old Masters and to explore the painterly possibilities of the imitation of nature in the light of modern imagery. Working in a range of media and formats, from small drawings on paper to large-scale oil paintings on canvas, Max Renneisen is particularly concerned with general issues such as human relationship with nature and the relationship between ideal and reality.

Katharina Renneisen is a German visual artist who uses analogue photography as her main medium. She works primarily with medium and large format cameras, maintaining full control over the photographic process from the exposure to the final print. In addition to film-based photography, she also explores the possibilities of historical and alternative techniques. So far, a particular emphasis lies on hand-colouring silver gelatin prints with oil paints.
