Tamar Halperin and Guy Sternberg will perform a set followed by Marcin Masecki.
Halperin & Sternberg
While the focus of her activities is Baroque music, Tamar Halperin is also an enthusiastic performer of classical and contemporary music. She has been composing, arranging, and performing pop, jazz, electronic, and new classical music.
She will perform together with Guy Sternberg. Guy is a Record Producer and the founder and owner of LowSwing Records. He’s a recording and mixing engineer and arranger who has worked with a spectrum of artists. Their shared program will consist of classical works arranged, looped, and treated electronically. Tamar Halperin will play works by Bach, Purcell, Buxtehude, John Cage, and her own compositions, while Guy Sternberg will enhance the expression through live electronic effects, in musical dialogue with her.
Marcin is one of Poland’s most prolific and idiosyncratic musicians. Winner of many awards he performs extensively on all keyboard instruments, sings, composes for film and theatre, produces festivals, conducts orchestras, educates, records and curates musical events. His projects span a wide range of styles and his virtuosic fusion of different genres as well as the blurring of the line between high art and entertainment have become his hallmarks.
Alma’s work is embedded in the tradition of figurative painting, and strives to relate this tradition to an Israeli context and find new ways of using painting as a viable medium for addressing contemporary reality. Her large-scale paintings depict social scenes and moments of encounter, set in the urban surroundings of Tel Aviv – Jaffa. These encounters are violent as much as they are erotic and blissful, always undulating between the two possibilities. They touch on the aggressive potential latent in every group situation, but also on sentiments of solidarity and identification.
