Tanja Selzer paints figures and landscapes, portrait and plants.
In open spaces and parks, on river banks and beaches, men and women are playfully running, swaying in the sun, bathing.
They are usually naked, kissing each other, caressing, musterbating…
Her references are obviously pictorial. We’ve seen them in the movies, in the erotic magazines, online.
We feel it through the treatment of colour, through the way these people move, their gaze and positions.
Sex and sexuality are at the center of these compositions.
Equivalent to painting’s sensuality, they bind subject matter and matter itself, into a playful, luscious pictorial experience.
This is the second time Tanja Selzer is showing at Framed Berlin, this time she created a large scale composition, specifically tailored to our space.
