We are excited to be hosting a special collaboration between clarinetist Shirley Brill and pianist Jonathan Aner. These two leading Israeli musicians both bring tremendous technique together with deep creativity, offering us music that is rich, moving and exciting to witness. Working together as the Brillaner duo, they have played together at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Tonhalle Zürich, Oriental Art Center in Shanghai and the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn.
Shirley Brill has performed internationally as a renowned clarinet virtuoso. In both large orchestras and small groups, Brill can be recognized by her energetic playing and precise articulation. She has played with orchestras such as the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester and the Symphony Orchestra of the National Theater, among many others.
Jonatan Aner has also played internationally as a soloist and as part of the Brillaner duo and Oberon trio. As a soloist, he has played with renowned orchestras in Israel, Germany, Italy and China. Informed by his deep knowledge of chamber music, Jonathan Aner’s playing teems with passion, intensity and a virtuosic technique.
