FORM & DISSOLUTION

Statement

My artistic work is driven by an inner tension between the desire for transformation and a sense of being determined by my own social origins.

I take a seeking and open approach to painting, with the working process being direct and characterised by a continuous layering of oil paint. Throughout a longer period of time, repeating brush strokes are condensed into a flickering surface. Any figurative determination, is covered up until all borderlines have been completely dissolved.

My intuitive way of painting, which does not require a compositional concept, is driven through the painting process by the preoccupation with concrete socio-political and biographical issues until I achieve what I consider to be a consistent condition.
